At A. Paton Opal, we are passionate about the outdoors. We love immersing ourselves in natural environments and wholeheartedly believe in the importance of preserving them for generations to come.
That’s why we have partnered with Ecologi to become a climate positive workforce. Not only does every item sold result in a tree being planted, but it also helps us on our path to carbon neutrality.
The work that Ecologi does, in conjunction with Eden Reforestation Projects, is undoubtedly paramount. But for A. Paton Opal, we aspire to do even more. We want to go above and beyond. We are eager to get our hands dirty and start a reforestation project of our very own. We are excited to share our knowledge and experiences with you.

Current jewellery production practices are dire for the environment and basically this comes down to one core reason - it is extremely difficult to create sustainable jewellery. Therefore, although we can’t completely transform how we manufacture, we can commit to achieving sustainability by switching to renewable energy sources and offsetting our carbon emissions.

Australia produces around 95% of the world’s supply of opal, making it highly prized. The finite Australian opal resource, mined for over a century, has compelled opal miners to enhance their efficiency in prospecting, mining, and processing.
